My intention in creating art is to paint the state of being and becoming. A way of creating
the visual state of NOW. It's an intuitive process allowing me to avert from conformity,
matters that confine me physically and mentally and restrict me from the freedom of
exploration. I create events in my paintings allowing the viewer to take a journey into the
realms of the ambiguous. They are abstract paintings based on personal experiences
and cultural references ranging from gothic architecture to social revolutions; I've come to
develop what I'm revealing to be
Metacrylic Structuralism. It is defined as a
conglomeration of obliterated metals, layered acrylic, oil and the occasional anatomical
form. When I combine these variables, the composition is rich in color, texture and depth.
The metal properties demonstrate the relationship between strength and fragility, while
the human form demonstrates splendor and the obscene.

The development of my work is often derived from the particulars I see within damaged,
obliterated metals and the experiences and observations of the human condition. I
contemplate how it relates to my own inadequacies nestled in me or ideals that are
bequest upon me giving birth to opposition I find in such ideals. I find restoration within my
meditative soul when I paint just as I find restoration in my desecrated objects. The
interconnectedness of my style is of geometric shapes, patterns, human abstract form,
metal objects and vivid thought processes. This is how I bridge the commonalities of war,
suffering, despair, euphoria and sexual metaphysical certitude we sometimes experience.
